Why is the entire Internet apparently convinced that DKR Bruce Wayne rendered Selina Kyle into a declawed housewife, when she's the one who convinced Bruce freaking Wayne to run off with her, ditch all of his responsibilities, and do whatever the hell they wanted?

Are we so unused to seeing the woman win that people have actually lost the ability to read it that way?

I haven't seen the movie so I can't say for sure, but I suspect some of it is long-standing jaded mistrust of Christopher Nolan's ability to handle female characters.

Basically, by my count, there were three women in the movie; two of them were sexpots and the other one had about three lines. It was not unlike playing Arkham City.

So I do have serious reservations about the continuing misogyny in Nolan's trilogy (and Batman/mainstream comics in general). Re: original post, though, Kitty, I can't say I read either character as "winning" -- they both get what they want.

But if I hadn't seen the movie a couple of days ago, I'd be miffed about non-cut tag spoilers. :)

I stop worrying about spoilers when the stuff I'm talking about can be seen by going to news.google.com and skimming the top headlines. XD
