What's the deal with Christmas? Why do I hate it?
I'll tell you why.
Christmas is a holiday where people get together to sneer at each other, swap food poisoning, and give away things nobody wants.
Think about that a minute. Entire countries giving each other ugly ties and godawful vases.
The USA alone loses four billion dollars in deadweight every year because of those ties. That's enough to save half a million kids' lives a year for twenty years, if it's spent on vaccines.
Every year we trade ten million kids for ugly ties.
Every damn year.
That's Christmas.
