Jonothon Starsmore stopped midstep. Down the hall, looking grim, stood one of the people he least wanted to see: Samuel Guthrie. Cannonball. X-Man. Nearly invulnerable and very protective older brother of Jono's ex-girlfriend Paige.
Jono considered escape routes, but Cannonball was just as good at blasting through a wall as he was.
Guthrie stepped forward. His face screwed up in effort.
He shoved his hand out. "Here."
Bewildered, Jono took the offered Christmas card. Then he saw the return address. "Paige?" And her rich lover Angel. Of course.
"Just do something about it," Sam gritted, and stalked away.
