Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] epeeblade:

You post a topic, list, category, whatever, in my comments section. (examples: "Five Things Bill Denbrough Remembers About His Childhood", or "Five Things Parker Decided Not to Steal" or "Five Things Jessica Will Never Tell Grady"). Then, in a separate post, I'll post the answers to your Top 5 ideas, according to me. Serious or fun!

(Yes, I know, I still owe a response to the last open call I posted. [livejournal.com profile] deireanach, you have this habit of making me write longfics when I mean to write short ones! I blame it on your having, you know, interesting ideas. :D )

Five Things Steph Can't Tell Cass

Date: 2009-08-27 07:23 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] infinitepryde.livejournal.com
(Working from canon, more or less, though most of these work for BnB too.)

1. Steph can't tell Cass about the gymnastics she used to do, because the whole idea of that kind of competition being "training" would make Cass look at her funny and derail the entire conversation.

2. Steph can't tell Cass how Tim actually thinks of her, still, because Cass knows it from looking at him -- but she can ignore knowing that, or at least take it into account without thinking about it; putting it in words would put it right into the forefront of her brain, and then Cass would get all kinds of screwed up. Maybe she already has.

3. Steph can't tell Cass how to get a boyfriend. She's tried. Her jaw still aches there sometimes, when it rains.

4. Steph can't tell Cass how she pulled off the ghost deal. Because sometimes she's sure it was her, just normal, sneaking out of hiding to keep an eye on her best friend. And sometimes she can't think about it at all, and those are the times she wonders whether she really *was* dead.

5. Steph can't tell Cass how much she needs Cass around; because when it comes right down to it, it's not the Bat that gave her some kind of a moral center, keeping her from killing her dad aside; it's not Tim, it's not Babs, God knows it's not her parents. *Cass* is the one who knows what people are thinking by looking at them, and who responds quickly and violently to aims sufficiently untoward. Cass is the one who had boundaries Steph couldn't ignore. And the parts of Steph that she can actually be proud of are the ones that molded to those boundaries, that learned what lines not to cross. That learned when it was worth it not just to risk her life but to count it as already gone. It's when Cass isn't there that Stephanie's least worthwhile, these days; that she slips the most, crosses the most lines. And she can't ever tell Cass that. Because when she's around Cass, Cass *knows* she's grown that much. And to tell Cass that that growth is partly an illusion, a lie... the look Cass would give her? Even with Batgirl's face hidden, Steph would know what it was. She can cope with that look from Tim, or from the Bat. She couldn't cope with it from *her*.

Five things Kitty will never tell Piotr. =)

1. Kitty will never tell Piotr he's not the one she loved the most. (It wasn't anyone he might think it is, either. He's put her through hell over someone she'd never met and could never meet. She's just barely mature enough, these days, not to do the same thing back to him.)
2. Kitty will never tell Piotr about what happened on 'Yana's birthday, late at night, when the awkward but determined celebrations were over and all the gifts had been given and 'Yana had finally begged off. She'll never tell him about how Kitty followed her back to their room and found her crying, and being *seen* was too much, and it turned out the enchanted armor could touch her phased just like the Soulsword could. She'll never tell him about how Kitty nearly had to break her other arm to get her to let go, and they hid in Limbo till the bruises healed, and came out that same night and looked *terrible* in the morning and finally made up a story about Illyana sneaking in beer so the other New Mutants would leave them alone.
3. Kitty will never tell Piotr that she may never quite be able to forgive him all the way for what he did at Illyana's funeral, either. Officially it wasn't his fault. The official story can stand just like the beer one.
4. Kitty will never tell Piotr that sometimes she's glad he's a little fatalistic; that sometimes she's glad it's a little easier for him to let her go than the other way around. She's already told him she was alive and on Earth the last time he thought she was dead. That's as close as she ever wants to come, and his forgiving her hurt. Badly.
5. Kitty will never tell Piotr that she still thinks his death, and everything that followed, was her fault. But she has a terrible feeling he already knows.

Five People Mia Would Like to Sex But Can't Admit It Aloud

Date: 2009-08-27 09:58 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] infinitepryde.livejournal.com
Canon-ish Mia:

1. Robin. No, not the current Robin. The last Robin. Uh -- the smart Robin, dammit, with the staff, you know the one I'm talking about. (Nightwing, too, actually, but *everybody* can admit Nightwing's hotness aloud. It is Legendary.)
2. Roy Harper, wherein the only 'can't admit it aloud' is 'he might take me up on it.'
3. Cyborg. Which makes that initial mishap when Mia first met the Titans all the more embarrassing.
4. Kyle Rayner, because *everybody* will kill her if she even *thinks* loudly about creative possible abuses of power rings.
5. Batman. SHUT UP.

BnB Mia:

1-5. Damage. Duh.

How's BnB doing these days anyhow? I notice on its website that only the forums seem to be working.

Good question. I believe the website issues are from server changes, but I'm not entirely sure; I finally imploded after going by stages from 'Future Writer' to 'She who feels personally responsible for the fun of every single person on the game whether or not the problem has anything to do with her or indeed with anything she can affect.' Spent a few months pretty much off of it, and just crept back on as a player last night. Still poking warily at who besides Spoiler I'm going to pick back up.

(... on the other hand, as Spoiler I promptly started a plot with Batgirl and wrote a 15-screen update app in two hours. Apparently I missed the outlet.)
